Active movement in everyday life gives life longer
Regular physical activity lowers the risk of death. The good news: A large-scale study showed that it doesn't always have to be sport. Even housework, cycling and walking have a positive effect on health.

As part of the PURE study ("Prospective Urban Rural Epidemiology"), researchers surveyed almost 170,000 people in 17 countries over seven years about their physical activity in everyday life. The surveys were carried out with the help of the "International Physical Activity Questionnaire". The participants were also asked about everyday activities.
The evaluation showed that people with moderate physical activity had a 20% reduced risk of death compared to people who moved less. 150 to 750 minutes of exercise were rated as moderate physical activity.
